Bullying happens every day, all over the country and in a variety of ways. The traditional image of a bully is of a mean child picking on younger or smaller children out on the school playground. As unfortunate as that particular situation is, what is more worrying is that new technology is bringing bullying today to a whole new level. Children are being bullied not only at school but also after school hours through the use of social media, text messaging and e-mail.

In the past children could often escape bullying while in the comfort of their homes; but today many bullying victims are being constantly harassed through both face to face and cyber bullying. It is more important than ever for parents to learn about bullying and learn techniques they can use to support their children and help kids avoid and deal with bullies. Many parents, however, are unsure how to handle it when their children are being bullied.
